Protecting you against unforeseen legal costs Landlords LEI can protect you from incidents where the tenant fails to perform their obligations set out in the tenancy agreement.
The policy includes the following features (unless specifically excluded by the policy schedule issued), which are
fully explained in detail in the policy wording. The limit of indemnity provided will be shown on the policy
schedule issued and is limited to £25000 in any one claim or any one period of insurance.
Cover Provided
- Pursuit following a breach by the tenant of any of their obligations under the tenancy Agreement
- The pursuit of Rent Arrears which commenced during the period of insurance.
- The eviction of anyone in the property without your permission.
- The defence of civil or criminal proceedings in respect of any act or omission by you arising from your ownership or management of the property.

Landlords Legal Expense and Rent Guarantee Protection
In addition to the above, it also provides a limit of indemnity up £2,500 per month for rent arrears. This is subject to a maximum payable per claim of £10,000 or the equivalent of six months rent, whichever is the lesser amount.
- Where the tenancy agreement commenced prior to the inception of the policy and where an insured event occurs within the first 90 days of the policy inception, cover would not be granted unless evidence could be provided to show continuous insurance up to the inception of this policy.
- An excess applies with regards to rent arrears of one months rent.
- Amounts in dispute of less than £250 including VAT are not covered.
